Legend says that our very Villa 6, known as Casa do Padre (Priest’s House) was a missionary’s abode during the Jesuit period in Brazil and also housed groups of hippies in the 70s, when they made Trancoso their headquarters in Bahia. The property was in shambles, though, when it was purchased and completely refurbished a couple of years ago.
But what is so special about this humble single-storey house?
“The atmosphere”, one could say. It’s not hard to picture yourself sitting right in front of Villa 6‘s whimsical turquoise façade, sipping caipirinhas and watching the tanned beautiful people of Trancoso passing by whilst listening to the joyful beat of Brazilian music. Right at the heart of Quadrado, the famous town square, this bohemian house is a gem amongst our villa collection.
The charming tropical low-key décor – so typical of Bahian homes – helps bring the laid-back vibes to the whole stay. Be sure to dedicate some aprés-beach moments to the charming back porch, which boasts stunning ocean and cliffs views. The friendly house staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel right at home, preparing local delicacies and assembling scrumptious breakfasts.
